How FRA Flow compares
Stroma operates across UK building safety, fire engineering, and FRA software. FRA Flow is a focused housing FRA tool with a BS 9792-led data model and reviewer-first QA. The right fit depends on whether you want a broader Stroma services relationship or a focused FRA software product.
No card. Two reports a month, free forever.
Where they differ
Stroma combines software with broader fire engineering, building control, and certification services. FRA Flow is software only.
FRA Flow centres BS 9792:2025 from the data model up rather than carrying it as one of many templates.
FRA Flow is built specifically for UK housing FRA teams. Stroma covers a wider building-type estate.
FRA Flow makes competent reviewer sign-off the default operating discipline. The reviewer queue is a first-class workflow surface.
FRA Flow offers AI-drafted narrative where every drafted line links back to its source observation, photo or risk evaluation.
FRA Flow uses per-assessor pricing with workspace base on team tiers; reviewer and admin seats free. Stroma's software pricing varies with the wider services relationship.

How to evaluate
For teams considering both, the honest evaluation is to separate the software question from the services question. The software question is which tool produces the better workflow and report on a real housing assessment. The services question is whether the broader Stroma offering aligns with your operating model. The two questions can be answered independently.
For teams considering FRA Flow, we offer a demo on a portfolio sized to your team. The demo focuses on the housing FRA workflow specifically, with no consulting or certification cross-sell. After the demo, a free trial period lets you run a real assessment without commitment.
Operational fit
The choice between a multi-service vendor and a focused-product vendor changes the shape of the operating relationship more than the feature comparison suggests. With a multi-service vendor, the relationship typically runs through an account team that covers software alongside consulting and certification. Software requests, consulting requests, and certification queries route through the same channel. Larger teams may value the convenience; smaller teams sometimes find it adds friction to questions that should be straightforward.
With a focused product, the operating relationship is software-only. Support requests, feature feedback, and roadmap conversations all sit in software territory. Consulting and certification, where you need them, sit with whatever consultants and certification bodies your team already works with. The trade-off is fewer cross-disciplinary conversations through one channel; the upside is sharper software accountability and clearer decision-making on the software side.
For housing-focused teams whose consulting and certification relationships are stable, the focused-software pattern often pays for itself in transaction simplicity. For teams in flux, the integrated approach has its own logic.
Plans and pricing
Reviewer and admin seats are free on every paid tier. Report credits are pooled across the team so one busy assessor does not run out while another has spare capacity. Annual billing saves around 17 percent. See full tiers, including the free tier and Enterprise, on the [pricing page](/pricing/).

FAQ
FRA Flow is housing-focused and BS 9792:2025-shaped from the data model up. It does software only, with no consulting or certification offering bundled. Stroma covers a wider building-type estate alongside its services arm. For housing teams who want the consulting question separate from the software question, the focused-product model fits better.
Yes. FRA Flow does not compete with Stroma's consulting, fire engineering or certification services. Many teams operate dual-vendor patterns where a focused FRA product handles software while consulting and certification stay with their existing supplier. The choice is independent.
AI in FRA Flow accelerates drafting but never signs off. Every AI-generated paragraph is editable, auditable, and traceable to the photo, observation, or risk score that produced it. The competent person signs off the report, not the AI. The audit trail records who approved which version against which evidence, which strengthens defensibility under the Fire Safety Order 2005 rather than weakening it.
All customer data, including database, file storage, and AI inference, runs in UK or EU regions only. Nothing leaves the European Economic Area. Full security and data-handling details are on the security page.
A 5-assessor Practice team is £249 base plus 5 × £49 = £494 per month on monthly billing, or roughly £394 per month on annual. That includes 40 pooled report credits per month, free reviewer and admin seats, and per-landlord branding. Overage is £12 per report. Full breakdown on the pricing page.
FRA Flow does not provide certification or accreditation services. For competent assessor recognition, FRA Flow surfaces the assessor's competence basis (typically PAS 7:2024-aligned) on the issued report's sign-off block. The accreditation itself sits with the assessor's own scheme membership, separate from the software.
